About Collective & Sons
A firm built around obligation, not opportunity
Collective & Sons was established with one structural commitment: to advise clients without any financial incentive tied to the recommendations we make.
Who we are and what we do
Collective & Sons is a capital protection advisory firm headquartered in Bratislava, Slovakia, serving high-net-worth individuals, entrepreneurial families, and family offices throughout Central Europe. Founded in 2009, the firm has spent fifteen years building a practice grounded in fiduciary obligation rather than product distribution. We do not manage funds, sell insurance products directly, or earn placement fees. Our revenue comes exclusively from client mandates, which means every recommendation we make is evaluated solely on its merit for the client. The work covers four service areas: risk management diagnostics, EU-regulated insurance wrapper selection and monitoring, protective legal structuring advisory, and ongoing coordinated fiduciary advisory. Clients come to us when they recognise that their wealth has grown complex enough — or exposed enough — that a general wealth manager no longer provides adequate oversight. We serve those who want an independent professional whose incentives are, by design, aligned with theirs. The firm is small by deliberate choice: a senior adviser leads every mandate, and we limit the number of active clients to preserve the quality and depth of each relationship.
How we work — process, values, and honest limits
Every engagement begins with a diagnostic phase: we review the complete asset picture, map dependencies and exposures, and produce a plain-language briefing document before any recommendation is made. This typically takes four to six weeks for a new client. We work alongside — never in replacement of — your existing legal and tax advisers; our role is to coordinate and challenge, not to centralise. Our charcoal-gold standard of practice means we favour durable, well-documented frameworks over elegant-sounding strategies that carry hidden risk. We will tell you when a structure is inappropriate for your situation, when a market environment makes a proposed change inadvisable, and when the honest answer is to do nothing and monitor. What we do not do: we do not provide direct legal or tax advice, we do not manage discretionary investment portfolios, and we do not accept mandates where a conflict of interest cannot be fully disclosed and resolved. Our minimum engagement threshold reflects the complexity of the work — clients with total investable assets below €750,000 are typically better served by a full-service private bank. Results in capital protection depend on many external factors — market conditions, regulatory changes, counterparty behaviour — and no adviser, fiduciary or otherwise, can guarantee outcomes.
